SPAZIO SV inaugurates the exhibition “BEYOND CHAOS” by François Reboul

SPAZIO SV presents BEYOND CHAOS, a solo exhibition by François Reboul, an artist who engages with abstract expressionism in a free and unconventional way. At the core of his practice is chaos, conceived as the starting point of every work: an initial state of disorder that, through a process of reflection and an instinctive, unmediated pictorial gesture, is transformed into form and identity.

The exhibition, spread between Campo San Zaccaria and the artist’s studio, develops in relation to the vertical structure of the space, creating an ascending path that guides visitors from chaos toward a gradual search for balance and serenity.

The show unfolds across four fundamental levels of Reboul’s practice. The first concerns lines and planes, which generate directions and visual movements, guiding the viewer’s gaze across the canvas. The second focuses on color, used in broad fields, drips, and layered applications that give the work a strong material presence, extending beyond its physical boundaries. The third level explores the relationship between fullness and emptiness, shaping abstract spaces and inner landscapes. Finally, a tension between abstraction and figuration emerges, where the artist challenges the viewer’s perception, opening it to ambiguous and unstable interpretations.

BEYOND CHAOS thus presents itself as a journey through attempts, failures, and continuous transformations, where the transition from disorder to order is never definitive, but remains an open process in constant evolution.
